Museum Silkeborg, Papirmuseet Bikuben is Denmark’s specialist museum of paper and papermaking. The paper museum is a working museum producing handmade paper, and a knowledge centre. The paper museum is located in Silkeborg at the old Silkeborg Papirfabrik (paper mill), where handmade paper used to be made.   The paper museum is a working museum producing handmade paper. Visitors can even try their hand at paper making. In the museum’s cinema you can watch a film about Danish paper making through the ages. Exhibition about Silkeborg Papirfabrik. Working with Silkeborg Museum, the paper museum aims to be a historical knowledge centre on paper. The research is presented in the museum’s exhibitions, publications, courses and on the paper museum’s website.   In addition to the normal opening hours, the museum is open for group visits from April to September and for schools in weeks: 20,21, 34 & 35.
