Silkeborg

In the Silkeborg area, there are plenty of opportunities for the active and cultural-loving family. You can find lots of attractions, museums, art-galleries, events and entertainments for the entire family.

Museums
The Silkeborg Museum of Art and several art-exhibitors invite everyone to visit permanent and changing exhibitions of visual- and sculptural art. Furthermore, the town is known to be a resort for many craftsmen and workshops.

At Silkeborg Museum, it is possible to go back into history and meet the Tollund Man, who is an approximately 2400 years old man, and thereby the oldest and best preserved man in the world. The Tollund Man was found in a bog.

Activities
If you and your children prefer to be more physically active, there are a swimming pool with entertainment, bowling, cinema, aquarium and several other things to go ahead with.

Music
Music is of great importance in Silkeborg, which always echoes with different music from bars, restaurants and discotheques. Every year the town is turned into real music meccas at jazz- and other festivals. Every third year numerous bands also strike up to a party at the Regatta, where every night ends with a display of very big fireworks, and here the Danish firework champion of the year is found.

Shopping
Silkeborg is characterized by cosy pedestrian streets with a wide range of shops and in the small streets, as well as along the River Gudenå, you find cafés and restaurants. You will find something for everyone.
Parking is possible in the centre as well as in the outskirts of town.
