• Visit Silkeborg Museum and see Tollundmanden. One of world's best preserved Iron Age finds – the body of a man perfectly preserved by Bjældskovdal marsh. 

• Visit Museum Jorn and explore Asger Jorn's fascinating artistic world.

• Papirmuseet Bikuben (The Bikuben Paper Museum) is a working museum that tells the story of paper making in Silkeborg. You can even make your own hand-made paper!

Bryrup – Vrads Steam Train

 
Take a nostalgic train ride through some of Denmark's most beautiful countryside with the steam train between Bryrup and Vrads. During your trip you pass  the Kvindsø, Kulsø and Snabe Igelsø lakes.

Paper Factory Guided Tours


The old paper factory near the Silkeborg harbor has an atmosphere all of its own. Pick up the folder "Paper Factory – From Former Industry to Lively Quarter" at Silkeborg Tourist Office and visit the area yourself.

The Old Cinema


Visit the Den Gamle Biograf (The Old Cinema) in Kjellerup. The auditorium has been transformed into an exhibition centre for local artists and artisans. It also has a café and shop specialising in fine wines, beers, delicacies and high-quality chocolate.

German Occupation

If you are interested in World War II, you can learn more about the German occupation of Silkeborg and see historical remains from the period on a tour of German Occupation.

Amongst other places the tour includes a visit to Silkeborg Bunker Museum by the Art Centre Silkeborg Bad.
