The inviting countryside around Silkeborg makes idyllic riding country with its woods and lakes. Get away from all the traffic and noise in totally natural surroundings and get closer to woodland animals on horseback.
Riding in the Silkeborg Area
The following nature trails are open to ramblers, cyclists and riders. Nature trails feature a separate bridleway running alongside the path for use by riders.

Check-List for Long Riding Trips
- Halter and lead rope
- 5m rope. Used for tieing between two trees, whereafter the horse can be bound to the rope by the lead rope.
- Knife
- Needle and thread for tack repairs.
- Extra shoes, nails and shoeing hammer.
- Helmet
- Rain gear
- Saddle bags
- Reflectors for the horse's legs
- Red and white lights for attatchment to the horse's left leg.
- Water bottle
- Elasticated bungees for packing equipment
- Sun cream
- Scarfs are good to have around your neck if the sun gets too much.
- Mobie phone - you don't have to have it turned on - remember you're on holiday - but it's good to have if you need it.
