There are plenty of places to go bathing in the lakes around Silkeborg.
Almindsø
- Østre og Vestre Søbad
The popular, family-friendly Almindsø lake bathing facilities at Østre and Vestre Søbad (East and West Lake Bathing) are close to town. They both feature bathing jetties, changing rooms and refreshments.
Aggerholm
There's a more untouched feel to the bathing beaches on the North West corner of Almindsø. There is no facilities, but there is plenty of red sand! Dogs are allowed in the water.
The Small Fish at Sejs
At "De Små Fisk" in Sejs (The Small Fish at Sejs) there is a huge lawn and plenty of parking for bus companies. You'll also find tables, benches, refreshments and Hjejleflåden jetty.
Laven
Bathing is permitted from the Hjejleflåden jetty in Laven.
Ludvigslyst, Svejbæk
At historic Hotel Ludvigslyst bathing is permitted from the Hjejleflåden jetty.
Schousby Lake
This artificial lake is a paradise for kids with the highest water temperatures and good shelter from summer winds.
Silkeborg Lake Campsite
At Silkeborg Langsø¸ there are bathing jetties and canoe berths at Silkeborg Lake Campsite.

Thorsø Bathing
The bathing facilities at Thorsø in Virklund are accessible from Thorsø Allé or Paradisvejen. It is a good idea to park at Virklund Sportshall.
