The Pioneer Package

The Pioneer Package is specially designed for those who like a challenge as well as enjoying the unique natural surroundings along the Gudenå River. With plenty of fresh air, you'll have a pleasant feeling of tiredness at the end of the day.

All overnight stays are at primitive campsites en route, and you pitch your own tent each evening.

Pioneer tours can last between 3 and 5 days, and you'll stay the night in igloo tents at predetermined campsites. You'll receive your tent along with the canoe and it's yours to keep.

The trip is available from 1st May to 1st October (both days inclusive). They start from Ry or Silkeborg and go to Ans or Langå. Your canoes are available from the start point between 10:00 and 11:00 and must be returned by 4 pm on your final day.

Pioneer Package Silkeborg to Langå (4 days)

Day 1
Slusekioskens Canoe Rentals, Silkeborg - Sminge Teltplads (campsite).
Distance: Approx. 11 km. Duration: approx 4 hours.

Day 2
Sminge Teltplads - Ans Teltplads
Distance: Approx 18 km. Duration: approx 4-5 hours.

Day 3
Ans Teltplads - Kjællinghøl Teltplads
Distance: Ca. 12 km. Duration: approx 3-4 hours.

4. Dag
Kjællinghøl Teltplads - Langå Camping
Distance: Ca. 16 km. Duration: approx 5 hours.

Pioneer Package Ry to Ans (3 days)

Day 1
Skimminghøj Teltplads, Ry - De Små Fisk Teltplads, Sejs
Distance: Ca. 15 km. Duration: approx 6 hours

Day 2
De små Fisk Teltplads, Sejs - Sminge Teltplads
Distance: Ca. 14 km. Duration: 4-5 hours.

Day 3
Sminge Teltplads - Ans Teltplads
Distance: Ca. 18 km. Duration: approx. 4-5 hours

Pioneer Package Ry to Langå (5 days)

This trip combines the first two pioneer tours.

Day 1: Skimminghøj Teltplads, Ry - De Små Fisk Teltplads, Sejs
Distance: 15 km. Duration: approx 6 hours.

Day 2: De Små Fisk Teltplads, Sejs - Sminge Teltplads.
Distance: 14 km. Duration: approx 4-5 hours.

Day 3: Sminge Teltplads - Ans Teltplads.
Distance: 18 km. Duration 4-5 hours.

Day 4: Ans Teltplads - Kjællinghøl Teltplads
Distance: 9 km. Duration: approx. 3-4 hours.

Day 5: Kjællinghøl Teltplads - Langå Camping.
Distance: 16 km. Duration: approx 5 hours.

What is included?

The price includes:
Rental of the canoe, paddles, authorised life jackets and transport of the canoe. A 4-person igloo tent, which you take home with you after the trip.

What is not included?

Meals, beverages and other peronal expenses, accomodation fees and sailing through the lock kr. 25,-.
