The Nature Trail from Silkeborg to Horsens
Today, the closed down railway trail stretching 61 km between Silkeborg and Horsens takes cyclists, hikers, and horseback riders through luxuriant river valleys, old beech forests, and the hilly Lake District Søhøjlandet in central Jutland.
A Trail for Everyone
One side of the trail is tarmacked for bikes, wheelchairs, prams, and roller skates, while the rubble in the other side of the trail is particularly intended for horseback riders and hikers.
Even though the trail is a closed town railway, five kilometres of it are still used as an actual railway during summer and around Christmas.
